We've been hearing about it since thursday.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Prime Minister describing his racism. We expected this with the Tories, but it should never have happened with Labour. And whilst Starmer is a new low we have seen it before, there was racist campaigning by Labour during the 2015 Miliband election too.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Knock, knock, knocking on Satan's door.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
There's no faking that. No one but Trump could have posted it.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes, but is Trump dead?
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social)
Is Trump still dead?
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social)
Trump didn't kill himself.

Typical zionist journalist. She's a racial supremacist.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Neither Your Party or The Greens are for you. You're a revolutionary socialist, they are both democratic socialist parties seeking to get MPs and ultimately government power.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
And a lot didn't.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
"Interesting that the establishment right has to pretend that Labour is the red menace while the delusional left..." And you wonder why Labour has very few supporters left.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
The media are far too easy on Labour. They don't even criticise Starmer for supporting an genocide.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
This is clearly nonsense, as The Coding Train usually use Processing, which is an environment based on Java. Or p5.js, which is a Javascript library. How can it be best for Lua when it doesn't teach Lua at all. AI slop.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Sounds quite difficult to get that in the balloons. Fill condoms instead?
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
The timing was bad. 5 years of no significant home for socialists. Then the possibility of a socialist leader of the Greens comes up. Building momentum. Then Your Party pops up to take the spotlight off Zack. I'm hoping for the best for both. Just wish they weren't happening at the same time.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
I've voted for about half the roles now. There's a lot of positions to vote for, and all the candidates to read about and watch videos. Takes a while!
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Incredibly, despite everything, the Democrats are still polling worse than the GOP. They need to retire the old Democrats hogging the senior seats. And let the young and the left take over. The only way to fight right populism is with left populism. Centrism is dead.

I think you are confusing your personal gain in living conditions as you've got older, with conditions generally, have been getting worse for a long time, and Labour are not improving.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
As to the state of poor people's rented accommodation, you're clearly unaware of the squalor that many private landlords are keeping their tenants in now. But for a far bigger percentage of their income. It didn't get better by privatising the problem.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Phones were a matter of technological improvement. Digital exchanges came in around 1980. Other countries experienced the same change from only some people having phones to being universal. US sitcoms of the 70s had stories based around "party lines", because not everyone could have their own phone

I want Your party to do well, and 600,000+ is a hugely promising number of people that are interested to sign up - most people avoid mailing lists. But you can't compare the number of people that are prepared to actually pay subs to be in a party to the number who sign up to a mailing list.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
I doubt if it's even 200,000 now. I know when I resigned, the party refused to remove me from the list of members for about a year, and classed me as in arrears on subs. Which is a lie. They are doing everything they can to hide the consistent slide in membership numbers since Corbyn stepped down.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
The problem with that is that the polls before the referendum also said that the the majority would vote for remain. But they didn't.

Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
The Democrat's decline is a lot longer in the making than one poll. People have got sick of them doing nothing to help ordinary working people.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Unlike Trump he has sensible policies for ordinary working people. And he's opposed to genocide.

Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
The latest update is 500,000 people have signed up at the Your Party site. Half a million. It's not the same as paid up members, but it's still damned impressive, and very much does point to the same level of support he got in the 2015-2019 era.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
They somehow seem to think that claiming Corbyn is anti-Israel will turn people against him!
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Yep. Remember when he hired an (ex?) Israeli Mosad agent to run the party's social media department. i.e. the people who spy on Labour's own members looking for an excuse to expel them. And then there's the leak yesterday that proscription of Palestine Action was a result of Israel pushing for it.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Incredible that Piers Morgan is still shilling for Trump.

It's a drop in the ocean. The reason we are in the shit financially is that the rich are hoarding ever more of the wealth, nationally and globally.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Well if Trump controlled nuclear weapons are your big priority, the Lib Dems is probably the right place for you. Or the Tories.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Until there are members to vote for things there aren't any policies. But if rejoining the EU is your major concern right now - your red line - rather than for example poverty or housing or Gaza or the NHS or taxing the rich, I suspect you're more liberal than socialist.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Too late. Starmer's already handed it to Farage.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
There are no members as yet. It's just a mailing list for people who are interested. Promising though it is, let's not get overexcited and exaggerate.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Funnily enough, both Labour manifestos when Corbyn was leader were costed. Your jibes are empty. You seem to forget that Starmer told everyone on the left to leave. And has been pushing out anyone on the left from parliament. There's no sticking together when Labour's leader is a Thatcherite.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
MAGA is your idea of success is it?
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Then you can choose to back them or not when that policy is decided upon.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
People who want to be part of deciding what the party will be. People who like the idea of democracy - something you don't get with Labour or Tories or Reform.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Same as any other party does. And no, this isn't reliant on a single personality. Literally everything is to be decided by the members - unlike Labour or the Tories.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
What do you mean "so called"? They were elected as independents concerned about Gaza, unlike the Labour candidates in the constituencies that back Israel. There wasn't any promise of any other common beliefs. They can choose to join the new party or not. They don't decide what the policies are.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
There's no policy on anything yet, given that it will all be decided by the members.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Are you aware that Britain cannot use it's Trident nuclear weapons without the approval of Donald Trump?

Dipshits like you are going to be dipshits no matter what.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Who are they splitting from? Not Labour is that's no longer a left wing party. It's policy ideas are pure Thatcherite.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
The whole point is that nothing is decided yet. The form the party will take and its policies will be decided by one person one vote democracy of it's members.

I first programmed in BASIC on a PET. But I don't ever recall seeing that manual. Rather I learned it from a book I got from the library. Donald Alcock's Illustrating Basic. A classic of the era. The entire book was hand illustrated and even the words were done with a pen.

Rushed it? Starmer's been leader for 5 years. 5 years! And Zarah HAS made a pigs ear of the launch. It should have been a coordinated event, not a tweet knocked out on a Thursday evening by a single person acting alone.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Jack and I were talking about the number of votes not the percentage. Its a fact that Corbyn got many more votes in both elections than Starmer did. Don't let AI do your homework.

What's the problem? All they've got to do is get fusion working first. It's about time someone worked on that.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Finally, your idea that Corbyn should have stood down as leader because he held different opinions from the conference majority is crazy. You are suggesting that he should have stepped down to be replaced by someone who WAS in favour of renewing Trident. How would that have helped?
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Nowhere will you find Corbyn himself approving of the renewal of trident. On the contrary he has always campaigned against it. When you say he backed the renewal of trident, you are categorically and provably wrong. And you are wrong because you imagine the manifesto is a list of the leaders views.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
No, I'm afraid you don't understand. The manifesto is a product of the party, not the leader. Corbyn is a democrat. He believes in following party democracy. Party rules. That doesn't mean he agrees with everything the party decides. It's different with Starmer, who doesn't respect democracy.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
But Corbyn DID enthuse many. You may not like it, and he may not have enthused you. But the fact is he did enthuse many. Hence why he got far more votes. Hence why the party was bigger than it was in decades. Hence why he had crowds everywhere he went. YOU may like Starmer, but few others do.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
So those are the number of votes the Tories got out, not Labour. You pretend I'm wrong when I say that Starmer got far fewer votes than Corbyn, but it's true. Fact is Starmer lost more votes by moving rightwards than he won.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
The police don't decide whether to charge, the Crown Prosecution Service do. And whilst they are supposed to be independent, they are deeply political. And Starmer used to be the boss.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
So that means you don't understand how the Labour Party is supposed to work. Understandable as Starmer rules it as a dictatorship. In fact policy should be decided at conference, and was during Corbyn's era. Corbyn was dead against renewing Trident. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-poli...
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Starmer's Labour lost more votes on the left than the right. He got millions fewer votes than Corbyn did.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Who did? Corbyn? If that's who you mean, that's complete bullshit.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Never mind. Looking at Threeapp's previous comments, he's clearly a pro-genocide zionist, and quite likely a Reform UK supporter. It's irrelevant what he thinks.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
No response as to what part of what I said was wrong. OK, name the parties that have successfully put MPs in Westminster. Labour and... the odd independent or George Galloway vehicle. Now I'm not saying that only Labour could do it. But Labour did it because they used to have a broad church.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
They won't charge her. They'd be proving the law is an ass if they do. And they know that.

Three missions? Oh, I imagined there were more. Although I do very much appreciate how little memory there was for any of this! Right then, I'll have a play with Elite compendium. Thanks!
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Mind you, back in the day I kept expecting missions to arrive at some stage, as I'd heard about them, but no one talked about them not being on the cassette version. Probably kept me playing longer than I otherwise would.
Arthur Pomodoro (@arthurpomodoro.bsky.social) reply parent
Great stuff Mark! It's just occurred to me that I never played any Elite missions, as I only had the BBC cassette version. Which version of Elite has the most missions? For any platform, as I'd be using an emulator regardless.
