Honestly neither am I. But it’s a great story, right? 🤣 And just now I realized that Dining Hall on Dan Patch Ave is run by the Methodist church I currently attend. It’s like Dan Patch’s destiny and mine are intertwined.

GYN here. I perform many uncomfortable exams and procedures that could be prevented if everyone was vaccinated against high risk HPV

Walz: "It boggles my damn mind that in the midst of a military takeover of our cities, the flaunting of the rule of law, that the press finds the need to talk about, 'Oh, there's a division in the Dem Party.' There's a division in my damn house & we're still married and things are good. That's life"

Pritzker: To the members of the press who are assembled here today and listening across the country, I am asking for your courage to tell it like it is. This is not a time to pretend here that there are two sides to this story.

If you believe that a white woman who is a convicted child sex abuser and trafficker is innocent and honest, but a Latino father who had to be released because they could find no evidence against him is guilty and a liar, then it isn't law & order you believe in, it's child abuse & white supremacy.

Maybe they should enforce the whole Flag code? Like the parts about not wearing it or not displaying it all tattered on your truck or not changing it by drawing blue lines on it or merging it with the confederate flag or all the other desecration the MAGA do every day.

Turns out that’s a thing hens can do when the flock doesn’t have a rooster and the flock feels under attack. So, what immutable biological sex was that bird?

Yeah. Let’s take chickens. My daughter raised chickens. One of her hens started getting aggressive and stopped laying eggs. She grew a spur on the back of each foot (like roosters have). She grew a comb and started crowing. She became a rooster after a couple of years as a hen that laid eggs.

George Lakoff said the Republicans were the "strict father" party (in contrast to the Dems' "nutrurant parent" model) but under Trump it's clearly shifted to the "abusive father" party. For sadists, by sadists.

Trump is the natural outcome of 40 years of GOP policy and rhetoric. As long as GOP politicians continue to support Trump’s policies and GOP donors continue to fund MAGA candidates this will be the GOP.

A thing I would like to ban from culture writing: the phrase "nobody had ever [INSERT WHATEVER HERE] before." It's just never exactly true. Someone always did some version/variation/precursor to whatever your hero did. That's evolution baybeeee

A thing Zohran & his campaign have powerfully tapped into -- and that his scavenger hunt captures so perfectly -- is that a vast majority of the people who live here genuinely *love* New York City. We wouldn't stay here otherwise!

Hope is what we do when the odds are long and the options limited. It is the stubborn act of trying when despair feels easier. Rather than a passive optimism, hope is the commitment of those who believe they can make a difference, however small. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/what...
