Ironically that's punishing for being loyal to a company.

I wonder the same since correlation isn't causation. There could be a larger trend behind it (post-pandemic correction for example) and it's easy to attribute the change to AI even when there are other factors in play.

YouTube Premium is pretty cool deal since it comes with YouTube Music so for the price of a music subscription you get rid of YouTube ads without hacks. I have been using the attached app as my client on desktop. Tidal has better quality but YT Music is good enough for many.

Likely there's an analogy to how the term jaywalking was introduced to the language and culture. Once it's there, it's pretty hard to remove although meaning can be changed (see "hackers" early vs. later meaning).

Essentially what happened (or is happening) that product owner skills just rose up greatly in demand. Trying to shepherd an LLM has a lot of that in it since it's so much about specification or how you say things.

It must be a difficult topic to author about since technology is moving quite fast at the moment. It could be a good chance for a living book, though.
Juho Vepsäläinen (@bebraw.bsky.social) reply parent
Yup, that's what I was thinking - it's an alternate cost in the end. That said, maybe useless/recreational usage "compensates" there. It would be interesting to know which fraction of usage is considered work oriented.
Juho Vepsäläinen (@bebraw.bsky.social) reply parent
It's Jevons paradox basically. It would be interesting to see a measure vs. human doing some specific task. It's maybe difficult to set up in a fair way and it would make sense for tasks that have to be done anyway (and can be done by humans).

HTMLisp basically does this - HTML + LISP -> AST -> HTML. I guess what you are looking at is actually an AST transformation that's flattening the tree and removing the markers.

I think it would be fairly simple to implement at templating side now that I think of it. That would then compile to what current browsers expect. Maybe those boundaries would have to use some custom element that's compiled away. Here's my sort of related experiment: gustwind.js.org/templating/ .
