I pick up other people’s trash all day, every day. I clean bathrooms that they intentionally trash (including pissing and shitting on floors, walls, toilet seats, etc). It IS demoralizing when you realize how much people look down on you for cleaning up their filth.
I’m a custodian. I am in a union. The shitty attitudes in some of the comments reflects the disregard for “essential” workers that I’m unfortunately way too used to
I get pissed on this site occasionally (right now I am angry about the privileged commenters laughing because National Guard troops are picking up trash like “losers” (I clean up after others for my job and take umbrage). But mostly, hopping on here gives me opportunities to learn interesting things
