I do not believe they are connected to WIFI, but are downloaded from voting machines to a USB stick then transferred to a computer, tabulated by precinct then to county election officials, on to state election officials. All the actual voting machines are isolated from the internet.
Well, computers with no connection to the internet are not subject to being accessed in that manor. Can an in person hacker get into the system, yes but much less likely.
