I’m in the army reserve - happy to handle a gun but hugely respectful of their lethality. When it’s harder to drive than buy a weapon - I question that society and its resolve to rectify the situation.
No argument from me on that. That's the other factor, when a significant proportion of a country is raised to believe they need a lethal weapon, primarily to protect themselves from their fellow citizens, the idea that if another person is a 'problem' you can kill them is legitimised.
All it does imo is to increase fear and suspicion of all those around them.

Clarification is needed on the Second Amendment which was written with muskets in mind. Also it would be really helpful if people with known documented evidence of mental illness were flagged, remember the red flags? And last no politician should be allowed to accept money from the NRA.
