Not his best game. Still Jays could have won with some timely hits. It was really a lack of offense in general that lost them a close one.

Probably the parcel has not been picked up by Canada Post yet. The tracking number can be generated by the shipper but won't be in the tracking system until they actually have the parcel. It happens with other carriers too.

Yep. It was the managers right call. And Hoffman blew it. If he had set down the side we wouldn't have had this discussion. And I've enjoyed this debate. I'm just not swayed because you've not given me a reason to throw aside the managers' playbook in this situation. Hoffman is still our guy.
We have to disagree. I bring in my best available reliever top of nine in a tie home game every time. A closer is a reliever who gets the final outs in a close game. And it doesn't get any closer than a tie.
It's a strange situation for sure.
Keep using him in high leverage situations. The guy has 29 saves. He's in 5th place for saves in MLB. He's got two days to figure it out. Better this happens now while there's still time to fix it. Because you will need him to be on his game for the post season.

I was at the game in Seattle in 2018 when Borucki threw 8 innings and got his first MLB win and it is still one of my favourite games I've attended.The fans were about 70 percent Canadian and he got a standing ovation when he left the field. It was very cool. Glad he is making a comeback.

We differ in principle. I don't think they have "major problems at closer" I agree with David Samson saying you want your "closer to blow saves in the regular season, because you don't want perfect going into a post season, because nobody's perfect". At least Hoffman is healthy. And you married up.

What defines a slump to you? To me his performance is not a slump but a bad blip on an otherwise decent season. To me a slump is continued poor performance with scattered occasional good outings. Hoffman is the opposite. And it's okay if we disagree. Either way Hoffman is here for the whole season.

Naked has no root word. It's bothered me since 1985 when my then 2yo son insisted on saying naker instead of naked because of this pronunciation oddity. Our family still says naker to this day.
