Do you have any idea how many women have had to deal with violent reactions from men for saying no/telling them they are wrong, etc? A lot! Many of those guys think they are just being helpful, and get upset when their help is refused or gets a bad reaction, while completely unaware that he's actually the 10th guy that week that's "tried to help" and shes exhausted and just wants to be left alone.
You need to be aware that most women are "given" unsolicited advice regularly, often daily. Can you imagine how exhausting that would be, how annoying and frustrating? A lot of it is based in the (usually subconscious)misogynistic belief that women are incapable/need help.
You can be helpful but you have to do it in the proper context and environment and when someone has indicated they are looking for advice. Randomly, and directed towards someone who hasn't indicated they are looking for advice and whom you have no idea how experienced they are, is not cool.

Personally, I don't think HitchBOT had any nefarious motivations. That doesn't mean other inspired projects by less reputable individuals or corporations are as innocent. I think HitchBOT's success in places like Canada and Europe does say a lot about the US though.

In a similar vein, like @jackbwuzhere.bsky.social says many of these political labels are specific to who's using them. Liberal, Progressive, Leftist, Blue MAGA, etc. They've all been used as broad strokes or to mean different groups of people. It's not really consistent across the spectrum.

Ah, the 4th book isn't even out yet, or has a drop date even though goodreads has a ton of "reviews" for it going back to 2019. And the in-between novellas are very very short.
Looked these up, looks incredibly interesting! Unfortunately Audible only has the first three main books even though they all have several thousand reviews. A bit odd more haven't been converted to Audiobook...
