This is one of the studies RFK bases his beliefs on. This single study did decades worth of damage by making people think all vaccines were bad and caused Autism. The damage this study was doing could be seen soon after it was published, yet it remained unretracted for 12 years!!
Dr. Andrew Wakefield had insane conflicts of interests. Lawyers who wanted to sue vaccine manufacturers funded the study, and Andrew himself filed for a patent for a MMR vaccine that āwouldnāt cause Autismā so he could publish his fraudulent study and profit from selling the āsaferā vaccine.
Even this system isnāt perfect. It took 12 years for the infamous āMMR vaccines cause Autismāpaper to be retracted. Even though basically as soon as it came out scientists called bullshit and many studies debunking the link came out.
Thatās not how scientific journals work- at least thatās how they should when facists arenāt in office. For those who donāt know, scientific journals work by unpaid anonymous peer review, and retractions usually only happen if a study is bad and many scientists say itās bad.
Case in point, Obama before and after his presidency. He was only 47 at the time and his body could handle the stress a lot better than a 79 year old could. I firmly believe that Trump has declined much more rapidly than he would have because he decided to use the ultimate get out of jail free card.
