I live in Brampton and our mayor, Patrick Brown uses his wife & kids as props. He sends out a newsletter & the majority of the photos include his kids. No one else does that. It is so off-putting. I recall 1 of the women who accused him said he told her he needed a family for his political image.

In some companies you need to bank sick days when you only get a limited number of days in case you get really sick (think cancer or a bad car accident) and don't have access to short term disability.

This is not a mystery. The Pandemic™️ was indeed ~a pandemic~ therefore, people not being congregated in offices are less likely to get sick. Additionally, if you're already working from home, working while sick is easier (& safer for others!) So, OF COURSE sick days will increase with RTO!

I had a coworker in the '90s always talk about WASPs like us. I never corrected him, I'm Catholic. When he found out I was Catholic, he stopped talking to me. I was shocked. We were both in our 20's. I had never experienced that before or since. He was, or I thought, a smart, educated guy.

It started w/the Irish Catholics which is why we have a separate school system, but then later other predominantly Catholic people like Italians, Portuguese etc came along & were also hated. They were also considered non white.

There was a strong hatred of Catholics in parts of Canada like Toronto which was a very Orange city. Being Catholic was a bar to getting elected municipaly & getting jobs. My dad came to Canada in the '50s & said there were signs in Toronto "Catholics need not apply" when he was looking for work.

When I asked my gastroenterologist about the risks of using PPIs, he told me there were no risks, that they were completely safe to use long term otherwise they wouldn't be on the market. He completely dismissed the legitimate concerns I raised that were confirmed by the info sheet in the pkg.

I don't like the "Take off your masks" message as Covid is still an issue. I think "what are you hiding from?" would be more appropriate because these are disguises and not PPE. There are still many vulnerable people who have to fight to wear masks in public due to anti-mask laws targeting them.

The maddening thing is that we know EXACTLY how to prevent this. Yes, kids should get vaccinated, test, stay home when sick, mask as much as possible. But even without any of that: Better ventilation and filtration in schools can MASSIVELY reduce viral spread, for all sorts of respiratory diseases.

I worked in food retail back when I was in university. It was a very hard job to get. It paid well above min wage, I had a dental plan as a part timer, got quarterly COLA payments & plenty of hrs if I wanted them. Now they pay min wage, no benefits & if you're lucky you get 1 or 2, 4 hr shifts/wk.

I have 2 siblings w/heart issues now but they don't see the link to Covid. Dad died after a stroke, they blamed it on age not Covid. Sibling ended up hospitalized w/stroke like symptoms & prolonged severe balance issues. Dr said it was from the "bad cold" she had the wk before. No mention of Covid

If you can't test, then no one has Covid. People are dropping like flies but they don't see the link. I have too many of these people in my life so I know how they think. We should be blaming public health leaders, govt etc who failed us, not each other. Note I still mask & take precautions.
