I agree with you. Their existence was really more about representing the interests of the oligarchs rather than the public good. I think this is a really interesting topic we should talk about it.
I also think the Venetian system was basically just a game for the oligarchs. The DOGEâs position might have looked lofty, but in reality he was just a puppet chosen by the other elites, with neither the motivation nor the ability to deal with waste and corruption.
