'Companion to the New Testament' edited by James Crossley & Michelle Fletcher (2024) is useful. Kinda does what it says on the tin, with short essays on themes, reception (historic and more modern), etc. Each essay has a bibliography for further reading, if you want/need to go further.

Saturday stat: there have been two Test players with the surname Root, but all 13,543 runs by players of that name have come from the same one. The other was Fred Root (no known relation), who holds his own unique distinction as the only player to appear in as many as 3 Tests without ever batting.

Root had a long and successful county career, first with Derbyshire, then Worcestershire. Part of his time with the former overlapped with that of George Beet; against Sussex in 1913 they created a piece of cricketing poetry when the opposing captain Bertie Chaplin was dismissed "c Beet b Root".

As I observed to someone yesterday, my phone struggles to connect to eduroam in my office on campus, but had no problem at all in the hospital 150 miles away where I was accompanying my mother for an outpatient appointment. (You can play 'spot the teaching hospital' by checking if eduroam works ...)

The main antagonists for most of Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 6 are a trio of nerds, and at one point they spend time trying to work out the plural of nemesis, because they maintain that they're Buffy's nemesises/nemeses/whatever (iirc; I haven't got that far in the re-watch yet).

I also very much doubt that the school is "the first in the UK where NONE of the children's first language is ENGLISH" - but then as far as TR is concerned England = UK, so the existence of schools in other parts of the UK where all pupils' first language is Welsh, or Gaelic, just won't register.

Not a medical person, but in the UK you (hypothetical you, of course) can get advice from the NHS via 111.nhs.uk/triage/check.... The advice seems to be to have tetanus boosters about every 10 years, so it might depend more on when the last one was administered, not on when it expired.
