Malicious compliance. The original order was probably intended to make the place look utterly inhospitable but so badly worded that things like pouring fresh mulch could arguably fall under it. Think parade "march" orders.

The issues haven't been entirely limited to states with extra restrictions. Unless the wording is specifically primary care provider, this is likely to generate a lot of extra business for places like CVS due to their ability to supply both vaccine and prescription.

Sloppy sloppy. All they would've needed to make this more believable was a layer of that concealer on whoever's unbruised skin that was. Not even to bother color correcting to ruddy because he never did, just to plop on and smear. This was literally a thirty second fix.

Blanched zucchini freezes well.

An avalanche of produce flows diagonally across a white stovetop. At the rear are a bunch of rhubarb held together, two zucchini, a cucumber the size of someone's forearm, and rubber banded head of bok choy. Wedged between the zucchini and cucumber and the eggplant ahead is a line of shallots. In front of them is a bag of baby Yukon potatoes. Two carrots, a poblano pepper, and an Anaheim pepper ride the wave on top of them. Off to the left are a red and orange tomato. To the right is a white with floral print cream pitcher and a set of vintage Avon salt and pepper shakers. At the bottom of the cascade is a clear plastic bag of apples.

It's fitting that the decor got switched like half a month late. Our seasons threw away the schedule a while ago. The floof is trying to remind me to slow down, but storm season is coming and it's only going to get worse.

A white framed oval mirror stands to the left of a wood print closet door. At its top is a yellow butterfly and faux fall leaves, along with more fall leaves along the bottom. Tied to each side with white ribbon are bundles of green and tan reeds and small branches with dark green leaves. In the mirror's reflection is a white frame bed with dark brown sheets. There is a Mexican blanket and rainbow leopard print comforter on it, as well as a brownish gray tabby toward the foot of the bed.

Weekly cooking round up. Using up produce that didn't get used when I originally meant to because I was out of spoons.

A clear brown glass stock pot with soup in it and bits stuck to the sides from baking in the oven, with a silver colored ladle stuck in and tipped to the left. Breakfast sausage, zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, mushrooms, and celery make up most of the topography with brown broth and golden liquid fat shimmering at the surface in a few places. A white oval casserole dish with food in it, a red plastic ladle stuck in and tipped to the left. In the dish is a stew of garden egg, beet and turnip greens, tomato, breakfast sausage rounds, and tinned fish. It wasn't until a few days after buying it that I finally got around to putting stuff away and noticed. Sardines in Louisiana hot sauce. There's a short list of things I liked with hot sauce. That wasn't on it. The tins got put away. Out of sight, out of mind, and for some bizarre reason taking up real estate in my pantry. Tonight, I wondered how mustard sauce ones would work in what I was making as I fished to the back of a lower shelf. I felt the shape of a sardine tin, grabbed, and in my hand were them. They definitely would work, but why were they even there? Then I remembered. Blueberries in a rounded square baking dish. There is juice coloring the entire inside of the dish from it bubbling over. Whoops! We're on airport rules until further notice so this is going on cheesecake. A white oval baking dish with food in it, brown arcs from cooking along the upper edge. Goat with potatoes and shallots baked in red wine, with bits of green tarragon here and there. Thankfully I forgot to add the spices I intended when I set it up to marinate.

The impulse overtook me and I attempted a literal handful of raw forbidden grass aka fennel fronds. It was too dry to enjoy but still called for allergy medicine afterward. Zero stars. All but the obligatory lamb with fennel bulb are done. Also cabrito, but that needs to marinate and cook tomorrow.

Cooked rhubarb in a glass dish. A purple glass pot with baked vegetables in it. On top are clumps of diced tomatoes, followed by zucchini and eggplant slices. Hidden by the above are chicken leg quarters, layered into the pot whole. Not pictured: wilting but still good tarragon in the fridge, also cheese that will go on the vegetables later. Cooking is an art in the same sense that painting is one. This weekend is the culinary equivalent of Valspar poured in a tray to coat the siding. Spoons are low. Those still remaining are spoken for. Cooking the rhubarb twice is an option, and I'm taking it. Khoresh rivas must wait until Thursday.

Pride swag! They and Appalachia weren't far apart at one point, but somehow I don't think we're getting Irish pentecostals.

Farmer's market haul. I brought extra cash, thinking it was more than enough and feeling it was not. The lamb booth happened. It was not. I still want my striped cherry tomatoes.

A stack of glass and metal stock pots sit on the rear burner of a stove, a mound of vegetables in front of them. From back to front: fennel, rhubarb, two yellow squashes, orange mini tomatoes, two beefsteak tomatoes, lamb hearts in a translucent green bag, garden eggs.

Also MN but that fades out going west. By the time you hit Fargo, you're solidly in lutefisk and lefse country. Do. Not. Eat. The. Lutefisk.

I had to make an effort this morning, but the loaf asked for her clavamox and ate it plain again. She's probably doing it because they're the closest thing to dry kibble she can get her chompers on.

Seasonal probably got pushed to the floor early to make room for extra inventory imported ahead of the tariffs.

today I learned that instead of a typical female being XX genotype, and a typical male XY, in platypi the standard setup is females being XXXXXXXXXX and males XYXYXYXYXY. So if you're chromosomes-onlyist type bigot, clearly a cis female platypus is 5 times as female as a cis female human 😔

I should clarify a bit further on the potato and carrot thing. Only orange carrots and white potatoes are cheap. There are white potatoes that are called reds and yellows because of the potato skin color. Those are a bit more money. The cheap ones are called russet.

Turtle Island large scale farming. Grains and a small list of produce are relatively reasonable with sales that are a large drop from regular. Only two of them are root vegetables. Potato and carrot. Meat is like this, too. Which meats depends on location. Other food is spendy with few or no sales.

Groceries planning based on the sale sheet long cycle looks like this some weeks. Shelf stables and cellar vegetables wait to go on sale. You get enough of them to last until the next one when they do & get perishables and special occasion stuff only when they don't.

Two hours after chalking up my cat yawning in color to the antibiotic and calling the vet, she started meowing. Glucose? Nope. More food? Not yet. Five hours later, she hopped on the dresser. Crinkle crinkle. I tore open a pack, set the pill in front of her, and she leaned forward. I know nothing.

We only rate dogs. This is the goth cousin of Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. Please understand it's not just a phase, and only send dogs. Thank you… 12/10 (credit u/vincidelaunc)

a fluffy black orb like a soot sprite is sitting on a white floor. there’s a small crescent shape of white right in the middle, with a black round spot centered within it. at first glance, it has the appearance of a single eyeball floating in the middle of the void. at second glance, it still looks like that. but maybe on third examination, it’s clearer that the white is from a dog’s little snout, and the black in the middle is the dog’s nose, and any other distinguishing feature like eyes, ears, and paws are absorbed into the black void. an exceedingly fluffy black dog stands expectantly on the floor and looks up at a little kid in a high chair who presumably has snacks to share. the little bit of white on the dog’s nose and their pink tongue is the only interruption in the otherwise endless sea of darkness. but at least from this angle, they have a more defined body and tiny feet, so she’s a little less “orb” and a little more “dog.”

One of the things I remind our community of during Coffee With Texas Paul regarding the impending economic crash is to look for the red flags to get a sense of timing and severity. On that note, animal shelter populations are exploding. A very sad red flag indeed. Happens every crash.

The root issue still stands. Two expansionists got the set in. They want the same turf, want a return on their investment, and the set is cooked because there's no pleasing two masters who are duking it out with each other. Yeeting him won't change this.

Sixty cent avocadoes are Cali priced. This is kinda like how the sale price of ground beef in the Midwest is weirdly low compared to everywhere else but understanding of what to do with fish doesn't extend much beyond tartar sauce and shore lunch.
