Dunno if I can talk you down, but I AM convinced we make a difference. We’re like water: every drop counts, and water can carve a Grand Canyon over millennia as well as wipe away entire cities with tidal waves in a few minutes. I don’t yet know which type of effect we will have, but it DOES matter.

I started boycotting everything Cracker Barrel in the early 1990s, when I learned they had fired all employees they suspected of being gay. Although people and corporations can evolve, I haven’t seen any evidence of it in this case. So—they won’t get any $$ from me.

There’s also a Netflix documentary based on the book—though watching it made me physically ill. The sheer number of young girls (hundreds of 10-15 year olds) he targeted is staggering, and their vulnerability (due to low socioeconomic status, shaky family units, low self-esteem) made my heart hurt.
Not only do immigrants contribute more in taxes than they get in return, they’ve also kept our economy growing despite a shortage of citizen labor. Our economy will tank if millions of migrants are deported. I wish their US employers would be treated with the same disrespect & hostility they are.
