My wife and I are in Texas. We've eaten at Cracker Barrell a couple of times, traveling across the state. Yes. This is definitely the real problem. The food is awful. The decor is kitschy. I have no idea what the appeal is. It's just awful.

they used to rock until this year for breakfast. The biscuits were always fresh, and the hash brown casserole was sort of fresh. (they basically used a process that are much like the "boxed" hash brown cartons you can get. But those are about as non-processed as you can get with shelf stable stuff.

of course eggs were fresh, although omelettes came from a carton. Somewhere earlier this year, they started getting frozen stuff into each of the stores and got rid of all the people who just did prep every day.

Took MAGAmom there for lunch. Her pick. My lunch combo was a disaster. Sweet potato drowning in butter and sugar, and 2/3 was still too raw to eat. “Garden salad” was iceberg topped w 3 cherry tomatoes, and non-homemade croutons or dressing. $20 inc my $4 drink. Horrible. But PACKED w seniors.
