That was the first R-rated movie I ever snuck into, since all my high school senior friends were going, & I was just a sophomore....so they bought their tickets (at the LB Marketplace cinema) and one of them came back out and gave me one of their tickets, so I could sneak in to see it with them.
Nicola Scott deserves a Pulitzer for these illustrations of our heroes through the years.

I think they were even in costume/character. The story goes, we were so terrified, we couldn't stop crying at the sight of them!
Sadly, there's no photographic evidence of this, but our Aunt Chachy (who was literally *obsessed* with Star Trek, even doodling "Mrs. Spock" all throughout her high school binders), took your oldest brother Gus and me as babies to meet Capt. Kirk and Mr. Spock at a fan meet & greet in the late 60s!
Just yesterday a queen came up to me at Pride and presented her wrist and said "Touch this skin, darling, touch ALL of this skin!" It gave me hope for humanity.

I used to run with a pretty tough gang when I was younger.
I'm so ready for this Silver Age of superhero films. Despite being a person of a certain age, who began reading comics at the dawn of the Bronze Age, and at the time cringing a bit at the silliness of so many Silver Age tropes, I think it's time to have more escapism, hope, & bright color!
Hard to tell (other than the red cape) but Sonny was playing Superman, and Don Adams (of "Get Smart!" fame) was Batman!

Even as an older lady (in her mid-60's at this point), she still was effortlessly cool in her sunglasses (indoors, mind you) and jaunty beret.
I assume the same thing, that if they're promoting these four as the "four pillars," that a Wonder Woman movie can't be far behind.
It *is* nice that it's 2 men and 2 women, tho. And I love all these characters very much.

That station wagon became the car I was given to drive when I turned 16, and because of its dingy color, was dubbed "Tusky, The Elephant Car" by my friends!
One of the first movies I remember seeing, at the drive-in with Mama & Papa, and Gussy....in the back of our old 1971 Ford Esquire station wagon.

I never cared for her as Storm (I always thought it should've been someone with the exotic regal bearing of Iman, or even the haughty fierceness of Grace Jones). But I agree: she's one of the OG's. She absolutely should come back with the others. (and maybe this script will treat her better.)

I was suprised (underwhelmed) by her Ellen Greene Snatch Game. I think she thought it would be like Jinkx's Little Edie, taking a niche character that has a cult following. Unfortunately, even though her characterization was good...it just wasn't funny. But that Iron Maiden look was FASHION!
