I think it’s people having things in their car for insurance, so don’t speed and they feel it’s safer doing that vs being in the right lane of a 2 lane highway dealing with mergers. It’s 2 lanes, just move to the left lane when someone’s merging, otherwise stay right to let people pass.

Do you get “floating holidays” at work? We get 2 per year (maybe it’s 1) but it’s for the holiday of your choosing (Good Friday, Eid, Lunar New Year, Rosh Hashanah/Yom Kippur) The missed point also is, companies don’t do a good job of “avoid meetings on these open days, a bunch of coworkers out”

It’s also a problem in pro sports too. You need to save your job so you sign players to deals that may be bad in 4-5 years. If it flops, it’s not your problem, but you tried. If it works for a year or two, you saved your job and punted the problem down the line.
