Of no insurance? There isn't one. But, prosecution still needs to be in the public interest & I would have hoped that preventing people being defrauded was a higher priority than prosecuting victims of that fraud.
Nick Diable (@defencebrief.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm genuinely surprised to hear that this could be prosecuted in the USA. I'm far from convinced it's a criminal post here in E&W.
More Abstract Popehat (@kenwhite.bsky.social) reposted
The UK’s approach to prosecutions for social media content is quite different than ours in ways I have criticized. This one is within shouting distance of prosecutable in the U.S. The relevant question is whether it’s sufficiently imminent to meet our incitement standard./1
Nick Diable (@defencebrief.bsky.social)
I have a client accused of no insurance. He's quite obviously been the victim of a fraudulent website. Frustratingly, police are prosecuting him for no insurance & ignoring the website, which is still up and selling fake insurance to people a year later!!

His positions don't even make sense. On the one hand, he likes laws that prevents theft etc but he opposes the entirety of the rule of law if an immigrant benefits from it. You might conclude he's an idiot.

I hate to be that guy, but nothing about that website screams reliable or trustworthy, especially not the AI image of Farage. This lady was a real person, but it seems she left Reform for Advance UK in July. Is the story true? I'd be interested to hear if it's been verified.
Nick Diable (@defencebrief.bsky.social) reply parent
Has this story been verified? I just ask because the website doesn't look like any local paper I've seen and it's using where looks like a bad AI image of Farage, which doesn't suggest reliability.

As Dave Lister quipped to Arnold Rimmer in Future Echos, it seems in Nigel’s Reform Party that “death isn’t the handicap it used to be in the olden days”. These are the people who claim they will fix everything, yet are selecting dead people to stand for election. Good job Nigel.

I know this is unpopular because we apparently have an "unwritten" constitution, but my opinion remains that we do not have a constitution at all! It's just jumble of loose 'rules' that people usually play by, but which are mostly unenforceable and ultimately mean nothing if they're ignored.
