I can understand the working class shifting to Trump because they had valid reasons to distrust Democrats on the subject of their jobs and globalization. What I can't understand is 40+ percent of the country approving of sending the National Guard into DC. This is simple uninformed stupidity.

Yes! That is what I think about what he is doing as well. It would be great to see him 'let loose' with something imaginative with his particular skill.

Lower electricity bills is apparently too #woke. We need to pay more for energy, it seems, to be #masculine.

I would enjoy him far more 'going off the rails' in a very exacting way according to his his admittedly high skill and discipline. I'd enjoy it about 40 times as much as enjoying what he is turning out as shown in this post. I would love seeing something interpretive by this artist for certain.

It's almost like it has become irrelevant that he doesn't know what he's doing. Once it is explained to him, he'll just threaten the local stations for ABC, or NBC, or whatever - who do have licenses. Then they will have to choose whether they will cave or fight. It may be even worse.

#MAWA Make America Weak Again. He’s destroying the economy. He’s destroying our democracy. He’s destroying our relationships. This will all make us into a declining, weak nation. He’s destroying our country. We are weaker than when he took office.

6. If you are a supporter of this type of crazy, you too will be responsible for the deaths incurred by requiring unnecessary studies. That is a heavy and unnecessary burden.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
5. Randomized controlled studies are only ethical when you have a truly new vaccine for which you have not yet verified its effectiveness. Once science establishes that a vaccine works, you can't do randomized studies any more because you have to deny someone a treatment known to be effective.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
4. the vaccines work, we already know they are safe, and we already know they prevent deaths. To re-verify that fewer people die when they get these vaccines is impossible without letting additional people die by denying them the vaccine. This is crazy, but MAHA and Kennedy don't care about crazy.

3. injury from getting COVID, and some will die from it. Again, far more from the saline/placebo group will have this happen to them. Why would we want to risk people's lives to re-verify a vaccine we've already verified? It is unnecessary and unethical. It is unethical because we already know

The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
1. #Kennedy #MAHA say that updated COVID vaccines are 'new' and therefore require placebo controlled studies in order to be approved. So allow me to break it down for you. What they want to do is require huge studies with large numbers of people, let's say 40000 people. 20000 will be assigned to

Financial security and morality. It has been my observation there are two types of people. People who become hurtful of others when they attain their own financial security. And on the other hand, those who struggled to be moral when they were poor, but become beneficent when more affluent.

#Cook should state this: "I will step down from my position on the Federal Reserve Board if #Trump will step down from the Presidency for Bigly falsifying his loan applications."
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
Does #MAGA believe the Tyrant when he says renewables are the cause of high electricity prices? Because #reality shows that prices are going up where they don't have renewables and down slightly where they don't. Trump is making electricity more expensive when he promised it would be cheaper.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
I loathe #gerrymandering. But, I absolutely believe CA should #gerrymander in response to TX. Liberals should gerrymander aggressively and with abandon until it brings MAGA to the table to put an end to it for everyone.

The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
1. I'm so glad I can say "I'm a liberal who has always been for states rights," from before Trump's disdain for states and when states rights thwarted what I believed in otherwise. Because of my past honesty, I avoid being a hypocrite now (even if I am a bit self-righteous).

Today I'm thinking about the fact that #fascists need an enemy or two to keep their supporters riled up and distracted from the fascists' failures. Russia's fascists need LGBTQ and then Ukraine, Europe's need immigrants, United States needs immigrants, trans people, deep state, and imaginary pedos.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
In this day of online information, companies that resist giving you the information you seek about their services (like pricing) are especially annoying. So, feel free to waste people's time at those companies with abandon, and without feeling any obligation whatsoever. They chose this.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
Of those rare people who #detransition, about the same number do it from feeling discrimination or being unsupported as do it from #regret. In other words, #trans hate is harming the same number of people who regret transitioning. While trans care is helping 40 times as many people as regret it.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
At least 90 Percent of #trans youth never #detransition. 98% of those who transition are satisfied with their transition. Only 33% of those who detransition are doing it from regret (2-3% who start). "Regret" is important but still rare. So certainly the people who don't regret it are important too?
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
It is #heartbreaking to see people enjoy the turning of #cruelty into #spectacle in the form of things like #alligatoralcatraz. What a horrible country we have become that too many think this is a good thing. You can be for more control at the #border without being gratuitously cruel.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
There is this growing narrative that criticism, and exclusion from politics, of such views is a kind of discrimination. #Hegseth is free to have these views, but this does not mean we must accept him into realm of reasonable and serious people. We're being groomed to accept extreme views, here.

Nearly all who care about health agree with lunatic #Kennedy that processed food is bad for you. If he succeeds, he'll show that the #Tyrant 's willingness to throw aside conventional wisdom works in at least some instances. But, could this only happen while killing people via #vaccine skepticism??

If you don't understand the argument as to why the #Fed raises rates when the #economy is 'hot' rather than lowers them, you have no business having an opinion, let alone being Speaker of the House. You can disagree with the Fed, but first you have to understand the ideas. #Johnson doesn't. Do you?
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh please. #MAGA Mike Johnson said it correctly: She is not credible. Like Trump, she's a shameless liar. If the DoJ offers her assistance in her legal troubles, she's probably say (or not say) anything they wish. Like, if they wanted to lie and say Obama is a pedo, she would say it.

2. Democracy, imperfect as it is, is the best defense against exploitation.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
1. Many MAGAs hope for a dictatoriship that will rein in both corporate America and the Woke Left. What they don't realize from history is that dictatorships are usually captured by the wealthy and powerful sooner or later. Either that, or the dictatorship simply exploits in the same way themselves.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
Republicans are making fools out of their supporters getting them all upset about trivial matters. This, so that they can have power to lower taxes on the wealthy and otherwise facilitate the exploitation of the working class by oligarchs.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
For the average taxpayer, the cost of #NPR was about 25 dollars a year in taxes. 2 dollars or so a month. Even if it was a little biased, it really wasn't a priority thing to be concerned about.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh, don't be so silly. If the markets DO in fact lose confidence in the Fed's commitment to sound monetary policy, the 'test run' won't give any indication whatsoever as to the scale of the meltdown. Which will be huge.

4. And when I reflect that strangeness back to you, you become angry, defensive, and derisive. I am now done with this conversation. Have a good day.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
3. It is, in fact, very similar to my wording: "MORE LIKE ". This also is usually understood to mean the person is stating an opinion and not making a scientific claim. These facts about conversation point to just how ridiculous and strange you are being.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
2. Additionally, my suspicion is you 'made your number up' based on your own anecdotal experience, simply because of the way you worded it: " IF THAT". Such wording is usually understood colloquially to mean that a person is speaking from their own experience.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
1. You made a specific claim yourself. If all you had said was, "I challenge your 'vast majority' claim", then no burden of proof would have fallen to you. But, you didn't, you claim it is specifically 1/3, and thereby have made a positive claim you are responsible to prove.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
And, what exactly are you going off of for 1/3? Please cite your scientific study. In the meantime, I'll admit my assessment is from personal experience. Over my long life talking about privacy vs law enforcement in situations like this, very few of the people I know would have sided with me.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
More like 80%.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
4. The notion of privacy was never about protecting criminals. It was always about the abusive situations that arise when privacy is not respected. Unless I have been convicted of a crime, my DNA should be a private thing, the data for which no one is authorized to store.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
3. The vast majority of Americans have played a role in making this the reality, either through neglect or active favoring of the situation as it developed.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
2. For my entire life, there have been those of us who have said "these things should not be legal because of the way it could be abused in the future". We knew we wouldn't always have a benevolent regime. For this we were scoffed at at best and ridiculed as paranoid at worst. Yet, here we are.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
1. An even bigger question, actually, is that if it is a disadvantage to have your DNA on file with law enforcement, why does ANYONE who has not been convicted of a crime end up having their DNA on file with them? Why is this legal to begin with?
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
I am really trying very hard to respect Trump voters. But, sometimes it is really hard when you realize they'll likely swallow anything; including this diarrhea and shit stew. Who is betting that his worshippers, 35 percent of the voting electorate, will simply fall in line with this?
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
My path was a little different. I taught myself many things through self-study, but got failing grades and finally dropped out of high school. Later, I went to university and did very well there, completing a bachelor's degree. However, most people who take my path just fail. So, not recommended.

#epstein This action by Dems will be like a kiss of death in #maga world. Dems fail to realize Trump has primed MAGA to believe the files were written by Dems. The attempt to force their release will only confirm this in their minds. Better to have made a statement they shouldn’t be released.

It is extraordinarily frustrating to me that not a single Republican in a situation like Tillis's has decided to run as an independent to challenge MAGA's dominance in these districts. Why? WHY?
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
Final note: Even some of the racist/misogynistic/homophobic/whatever MAGAs voted for Trump because of working class jobs issues. So, even among this contingent, I believe Democrats can win votes.

4. Dems altogether. And Dems can't be held accountable unless we see clearly what they need to be held accountable for. Two things can be true: Dems can need some real reform at the same time that Trump is profoundly more wrong than Dems are.

3. on a personal level to these decent people, and then our politicians need to make an appeal to them on the aggregate level. Dems and their voters have things to answer for. Oh, not the supposed conspiracy against Bernie Sanders or whatever. Rather, the neglect that leads people to abandon
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
2. the choice was so clear cut that only jerks could have voted for him, but it really wasn't. There were many, many decent people who voted for Trump for good reasons - even if I personally still believe they ultimately made an error. The reason this is important is because we need to appeal
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social)
1. I see countless liberals/lefties/progressives/whatever making the grave mistake that because many of the people who voted for Trump are racist/misogynistic/homophobic/whatever, ALL of the people who voted for him are. I realize it feels good to think we are so superior to all of them and that
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
2. The old feeb had it right, and Dems need to steadfastly embrace his solutions. So often I hear Dems need to be more like MAGA, which for the most part I find to be a dreadful (and stupid) idea. But, one thing they do is stick to their guns (so to speak). Dems need to do the same.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
1. Also, I agree that Mamdani is appealing to the working class, but I don't believe he will appeal to the broader working class - namely the ones who voted for Trump. In any event, I don't really agree his ideas will help them, though neither would Cuomo's. It is Biden's ideas that would work.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
Of course two things can be true. Of course Trump won on misogyny AND working class jobs. My point is that Dems need to appeal to working class men on jobs. And no, I disagree that Harris would have won as a man. Lost by less, yes, but not won. Dems have a big problem. Read all the data.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
I explained why they still lost. My very point is that they need to continue despite that loss. You allow me to bring up another point: Dems are so afraid of their own shadows they sometimes do not remain steadfast on something important when they lose. They need to remain steadfast on this.
The Real Matt (@dezaad.bsky.social) reply parent
And no, I am NOT saying they are right to put their trust in the con man tyrant Trump. I am talking about the Democrats problems, not Trump's. Focus.

6. reasonable for working class men to distrust Democrats. If you can't see this through the fog of your own ego, then you are part of the problem. The explanation for Trump's win is obvious, from the data. Democrats need to genuinely appeal to working class men - through jobs. Period.
