Absolutely agree. When I stopped shitting on myself for the things I love, I was able to be my best, most authentic self. For those still struggling, a little benign support can mean everything.

Moved to a very small and insular community 3 years ago. Very much the outsider. A year ago, I joined the local rescue squad, and a couple weeks ago, passed my EMT. Now I have people I don’t know coming up to me and congratulating me, and thanking me for my service to the community. Bliss!

Mrs. Curmudgeon definitely does. I start out exhausted, and just fight it until bedtime. The only exception is when I’m on a 🚑 call. Don’t know where the energy and focus come from, but they’re there.

I prefer lying on a hammock in the shade sipping an icy cold sweet tea. I recommend it. Tell people an EMT told you to.
