The first step is grabbing attention. Newsom is showing the way. I think more Ds will adopt some form of this strategy backed up with more concrete proposals. Mamdani has proven that authenticity, empathy, and clear communication work. Be aggressive. Be real. That’s the lesson.

i have really loved Mamdani’s social media strategy because it punches in the face when it needs to but it’s also very organic. it’s clear it driven by him and not staffers. its very centered on a coherent politics and place. it feels very authentic, which means it is sustainable.
