My garlic stays pretty good from harvest in late June till early in the new year, but then serious sprouting starts, so I mince and freeze several dozen cloves' worth, flat in a ziploc bag. The food processor works great to make a more or less consistent mince. Still have to peel the cloves, though.
Well. I use garlic granules, not powder, and Iād have to say it has an entirely different set of applications from fresh garlic. And yes, I use fresh garlic. I even grow it!

Even a small upright freezer (ours is 5 cu ft) holds a remarkable amount of preserved produce. We do corn, green beans, tomato sauce, and bell peppers. Plus we get an ~18 lb turkey at Thanksgiving (for 2) and freeze several pounds of meat and several quarts of stock.
