It saddens me, but I fully expect Trump will eventually receive a Nobel Peace Prize. Very few organizations have stood up to Trump - not media outlets, Congressional Republicans, the Supreme Court, universities, NATO members, etc. Trump getting an award with peace in its name would be tragic!
The begging campaign for a Nobel Peace Prize continues. I still recall the sick feeling I had when a veteran gave his Purple Heart medal to Trump in 2014. What kind of leader accepts that gift? The correct response should have been-"Thank you, but I cannot accept this. I didn't earn it - you did."
I've always felt that individuals received the Nobel Peace Prize because they were sincerely interested in achieving peace, not because they wanted a new medal.
Trump wants a Purple Heart, though he has never done anything to earn one. He wants the Kennedy Center named after him, though he's made no positive contributions to the arts. He desperately wants a Nobel Peace Prize, though he's done more to promote division and hatred than any president, ever.
