An "Amstrad PCW" with a Z80 processor running CP/M. I learned to program dBase II on it, which led to my first IT job in 32 years of continuous employment. Before retirement I worked for 16 years at Google. I'd say that little Amstrad served me well.

"Car crash physics" is fascinating. A couple of mph can make the difference between survivable or not. Getting there a couple of minutes later is insignificant. Slowing-down just makes sense.

I spent my last 3 working decades in IT, and I find many computerized systems poorly designed & hard to understand & navigate. I don't know how people without an IT background cope with them. Too few organisations have spent any time or money on "UX Design" ("User Experience"), and it shows.

STM the EU's greatest achievement has been peace between it's members. Having been bankrupted by 10 years of world-wars in the first half of 20C, I'd have expected the UK to realize the benefits of contributing to that peace. Sadly, "Marketing" exists to overcome common-sense. ;-)
