I think this would be the case for whichever particular party came to power. Big business and particularly the fossil fuel industry will ensure there is no disruption to business as usual... which is why there's no meaningful progress in addressing the climate crisis for example.

Unfortunately this sort of thing will only provide short term relief unless we swiftly phase out fossil fuels... and I really don't see any signs of that happening.

I guess in a democracy a political party can set out their stall and then see if the public vote for them. If it's true that most people are in favour of renewables and a sustainable future then Reform won't get many seats at the general election.

We get warning after warning from the climate scientists but they are completely ignored as we continue with business as usual. There's no attempt to phase out fossil fuels which are responsible for 75% of warming. Our young children and grandchildren have no future so obviously I am very concerned.
