BREAKING: On a 2-1 vote, D.C. Circuit denies the Trump administration's request to let Trump fire a Federal Trade commissioner during appeals. Citing Humphrey's Executor, about the FTC: "To grant a stay would be to defy the Supreme Court's decisions that bind our judgments. That we will not do."

United States Court of Appeals FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA CIRCUIT No. 25-5261 September Term, 2025 President Trump fired Federal Trade Commissioner Rebecca Slaughter without cause. The district court ordered her reinstatement. The government now seeks a stay of that decision pending appeal. That motion must be denied. The government has no likelihood of success on appeal given controlling and directly on point Supreme Court precedent. Specifically, ninety years ago, a unanimous Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the Federal Trade Commission Act's for-cause removal protection for Federal Trade Commissioners. See Humphrey's Executor v. United States, 295 U.S. 602 (1935). Over the ensuing decades-and fully informed of the substantial executive power exercised by the Commission-the Supreme Court has repeatedly and expressly left Humphrey's Executor in place, and so precluded Presidents from removing Commissioners at will. Then just four months ago, the Supreme Court stated that adherence to extant precedent like Humphrey's Executor controls in resolving stay motions. To grant a stay would be to defy the Supreme Court's decisions that bind our judgments. That we will not do.

DONALD J. TRUMP, et al., Defendants. Congress spoke clearly in 1878 when it passed the Posse Comitatus Act, prohibiting the use of the U.S. military to execute domestic law. Nearly 140 years later, Defendants President Trump, Secretary of Defense Hegseth, and the Department of Defense deployed the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles, ostensibly to quell a rebellion and ensure that federal immigration law was enforced. There were indeed protests in Los Angeles, and some individuals engaged in violence. Yet there was no rebellion, nor was civilian law enforcement unable to respond to the protests and enforce the law. I have the opposite view. Bluesky is great because people can choose to use it how they want to use it when they want to. I have a number of feeds for different purposes and use them at different times. It's great!

Faster, cheaper, lower quality. This seems to be the most common approach to using AI in industries. Use it to do things faster, cheaper, and of less quality. This is a common approach to implementations for so many technologies.

Trump is going to continue oppressing people if you order delivery or not. Not every person delivering is at risk. You can support those at risk by extreme overtipping so they don't need to make many deliveries.

They're being threatened with denied funds for not following unlawful demands. If Trump cared about people's safety Trump wouldn't cut off the funds. Even if he tries, this doesn't look legal. "Look what you made me do" is what the person that dose something wrong says.

People should remember that aside from the depraved treatment against those detained there, well over $300 million in taxpayer dollars were disbursed through no-bid contracts to politically connected vendors at Alligator Alcatraz. This was complete financial malfeasance.

Of course, but people who have seen recesses before are indicating something noticeable is happening. That's worth paying attention to. Business revenue doesn't indicate how it feels to be intimidated and oppressed the way people speaking up about feeling intimidated and oppressed does.

There are videos showing that parts of DC which are typically packed during an August weekend are instead sparsely occupied by residents and visitors. It looks like the data used doesn't represent what's going on, but it seems like there's a real effect even if measuring it is providing difficult.

People who have very limited political influence want to support transgender people. They have limited means, but are motivated. They see an opportunity to show that there are people in the community that support transgender people. You are demoralized because they haven't chosen some other

Do you not understand what that polling is? That's not an indication of Sanders being more popular among Democratic voters in the Democratic Primaries. Trump was not in the Democratic Primaries. These polls are entirely irrelevant to a vlaim of a stolen primary.

Sanders might have prevented a flip of some combination of Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin to beat Trump. But that is entirely unrelated to a claim that the Primary election was stolen.

a shitty means of determining a Presidential nominee. But even without that shitty process, it's clear that Clinton was substantially preferred by Democratic voters in all nation wide polls. Clinton did get more votes than Trump in 2016. She didn't get them in the states needed. It's possible

That was one poll. It was conducted over telephone. It doesn't have any relationship to the claim that DNC stealing the primary. Many polls showed that outside of the Northeast, Democratic voters preferred Clinton over Sanders (especially in the South East) by large margins. The DNC uses

A good policy would be to increase electric power production while taxing the power consumption of large scale industrial usage. You could even use the tax revenue from the industrial power taxes to fund more production.

I can't see the context, but I'm assuming that they suggested that kids in a positive environment learn faster and learn more. Which isn't wrong, but they need teachers using effective methods else the environment is irrelevant.
