Are we taking bets on the possibility that the person who placed that IV has been fired and his/her life examined for some crumb of law-breaking so an arrest can be made? If they can't find something, they'll make it up. Human trafficking at the least.

I don't love cooking or chopping up a zillion veggies, but I do love eating the result. It seems like what we eat at home is vastly better than restaurants, except for the occasional recipe flop. Also good for the lactose intolerant. I can use lactose free cheese, yogurt, 1/2 and 1/2 - heaven.

Does anyone stay while it is read or is the chamber virtually empty? I've seen impassioned speeches delivered to a handful of legislators. I've seen the whole R side emptied out when a Democrat has something to say longer than an allotted 5 min. I don't think even the media is listening.

Fessty (@fessty.bsky.social) reply parent
Technically the baby did die in utero. That's because if the baby is breech and you yank on his feet...I can't type that. Just to make it more awful, they tried really hard to not let the parents know their child didn't come out in one piece. They found out 4 days later. Abominable.

I ponder this when I look at my $500 SS check. All those years I stayed home caring for the kids when they were sick (often!), getting them to appts., volunteering for Scouts (boys & girls), sports, special ed advocacy, pretty much anything relying on volunteers. I made a difference, but not $.

A rule of thumb in the volunteer world is that if you need a volunteer, ask someone who has previously volunteered, preferably multiple times. I suspect the same is true in the fraud world, aim at people with a track record of being duped. It works for Trump.

3/Here's a thought: don't write a splinter group's interpretation of their religion into law. Don't made it so opaque as to confuse medical personnel with dire consequences if they misinterpret. Who the law applies to may well be a matter of melanin or wealth, also confusing. Screw these laws.

2/ Confusing isn't it? A shot of methotrexate or allow the little "human" to grow and burst the Fallopian tube-very bad for Mom. A mortal sin for Mom and the medical team (according to some religions) or no sin and a possibly fatal outcome for Mom or future infertility?
Fessty (@fessty.bsky.social) reply parent
That drug, methotrexate, stops rapidly growing cells from growing. This is a good thing if those growing cells are inside a Fallopian tube. But wait! If those rapidly growing cells are a "person," then surely it's illegal under their laws to stop the growth and expel that little "human being."

The optics of ICE (if that's even who they are - badge, please?) tackling the bishop to the floor, smashing his face down, and handcuffing and arresting him, might just be a step too far. Maybe they could start with the imam to accustom the populous to the violent and illegal arrest of the clergy.

An extraordinary display of Out to Lunch on multiple fronts incl. the long history of ME rancor. Nations don't make "deals" to resolve wars. They make treaties or negotiate, but not "make deals." Deals in Trump-speak sound more like agreements among middle schoolers: "For $5 I'll do your homework."
