Not violating any laws, but it's just not fair to those troops who are basically civilians and weekend warriors as we called them back when I was on active duty. They have bills to pay, and without that extra money, many will end up behind on payments, which will make them unable to reenlist.

It's not unusual IF the troops were going back to their states. They're not. The orders end on day 29, and new orders cut on day 31. That's not fair to the troops who have families to support.

My lovely wife and I started watching really low budget films the last couple of days. Some are so bad they're actually funny! Last night it was Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, then Manos, the Hands of Fate. The 1st one was dumb, but the 2nd one was a laugh fest.

The 2nd was written during a time when our fledgling government didn't want a standing army that could be used against the citizens. Not everyone could afford a rifle, so the states provided one for militia members to keep at home in case they were called to serve.
It might be time for Democrat governors to secede from the union. This is unsustainable, and if it continues, everything will collapse. I say cut red states loose, including DC, and let them go adrift.

I did 10 years in the Navy in the 80s. Back then there was no TV in the chow halls with Fox News on. Fox wasn't even a thing until mid 80's. I went back in after 9-11.
