We have a lot to celebrate today. Washington was recently named one of the best states in the nation for workers. This year, we strengthened laws protecting youth in the workforce. We created a more level playing field for bargaining workers.
There were #WinsForWorkers who are immigrants, too: A new law stops employers from making immigration-related threats to stop workers from exercising their rights. Another allows workers to use sick leave to deal with immigration proceedings. #LaborDay lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov/biennium/202...

The Trump Administration’s attacks on safety net programs like SNAP harm our most vulnerable Washingtonians, all to pay for tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans. This is not just morally wrong. It harms Washington’s economy and puts a strain on other programs that support our kids.

Port Angeles has already lifted its "Do Not Drink" order for its water supply. We were able to quickly contain the fuel spill and prevent further damage because of the immediate response by so many people, organizations, Tribal partners, and levels of government working together.
So much work has gone into the Elwha River to bring back salmon and restore this amazing habitat.
