YYM is a true mensch. Youth orchestra playing for him, he beamed then couldn’t stand not being part of it so grabbed a cello from one of the students and played along then autographed the cello for the kid. the adults watching teared up, he was so sweet and loving and joy filled. YYM is the best.
Saw him on Univ of TX campus back in the 80s. He sang 45 songs, some just him and a guitar. Magical. I used to work w/someone who went to school w/him at TX Tech. He said no one believed he could make it.

During COVID I did zoom meetings with someone who fostered Great Danes. She always had one or two wandering by, we always made her stop and introduce them to us.

Don’t get me wrong, I worked for the military for years, hub is retired mil, best years of our lives, smartest/most honorable people I’ve ever known. But how could the mil leadership let this deployment happen? The whole deployment I mean. Say no funds, say conflicts w/training schedule. Something.
Fun fact. Country Earl was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. He died in 2012 and sadly the restaurant closed. The hostess was introduced to us as Miss Iona and she later appeared on stage to sing. All the food was deep fried. A great loss.
At a rodeo stock show watching the herding dog trials. One dog got so exasperated that the sheep weren’t cooperating he grabbed one by the leg and dragged it into the pen. The judges were appalled, the dog was like “what? You wanted them in the pen right? Let me do my job!”
We stopped on a cross country trip at Country Earl’s Chomp & Stomp (yes, look it up) somewhere in SC. We were the only ones in the place not wearing some piece of blaze orange.
I’ve worked alongside military members and this is such a waste of talent. I get the optics and maybe it is their NG leadership trying to avoid violence but gosh this is hard to watch.

I work at a polling site and we do have young people come in who do not know how to sign their names. They either print fairly neatly or make a squiggle. We have to ask whether that is their signature they use every time bc in TX at some point in their voting life their signatures need to match.
A friend who worked for Gen Mills said if I sent him a photo of hub playing golf he could get it printed on a Wheaties box for his birthday. No photos of hub but I do have 1,538,853 photos of the dogs….

Yes to all that. I’m here in Mnpls for the summer and I don’t think these folks understand how heat affects those big fluffy dogs. Sure they love winter but think how hot that fur is even in about 75F. So take water, watch the hot pavement for the paws, keep on the grass, don’t go out in the heat.
Have to be “that guy.” Take water for your dogs when you walk. Take a bandana to wet down and pat their tummies to keep them cool. If you need water, your dog needs water. If their tongue is out, they need water.

W/League of Women Voters posting up in a local library to defend democracy/empower voters (register, educate, practice voting machine, more.) Watched a librarian help a guy renew his long haul truckers license. Libraries will save us.
Is there some physical way to interrupt this? I mean could you physically surround the target person and link arms and make them try to separate you? Could a bunch of people chain themselves to the person and the car? Something to disrupt the action, if it’s too hard maybe they’d move on.

I was at this game. The Vikings have two young men on the cheerleading squad. The two young guys were excellent dancers and gymnasts, obviously loving what they were doing. It was a joy to watch them. No revealing costumes, yes Pom poms. Let them be.
Why didn’t a bunch of male reps make a circle around her and walk her out? What are the guards going to do? Wrestle them all to the ground? LET THEM. Get it on camera. Then sue the snot out of everybody. You all were brave last week, it’s a lot to keep asking but please keep on being brave.

About 15yrs ago someone invited us to their newly built million$ home to show off the “Smart” technology. Had what amounted to a server farm in their climate controlled garage. While we were there, they couldn’t get the lights on, the TV wouldn’t work, the a/c was off, the doors locked randomly…

I don’t get why nail salons make you sit right next to someone when there’s lots of other stations available. Does it make the shop look busier? Maybe they think people like to sit close in case they want to chat?
Can we get a video some day of how she actually manages to get up and in there? Must take some highly calibrated but delicate jumping.
Somebody had to have the idea to do this. Somebody had to order it to happen. Somebody had to plan the # of vehicles, where they came from, who was going to drive them, where they were going to park, how long they were going to stay there. Media, start asking questions & get some names out there.
I I know I’m being incredibly naive but maybe they just need somebody besides the bad guys to ask them to join something. I’m thinking the youngest ones just want to belong to something that they perceive gives them power & approval. If no alternative, this is what we end up with.
I’d like to see a bunch of personal interviews with the youngest of these masked guys. Who are they? Why are they doing this? What would it take to make them turn away?
And FWIW every Air Force base I’ve ever worked at has a Billy Mitchell conference room. Made me smile when I saw that. But yes leaving this level of detail on a public printer would have gotten a whole bunch of people fired back in the day.
