It's an entirely manufactured 'row'. Rayner has done absolutely nothing wrong. She owns one house. She paid the correct amount of stamp duty on it. What's the 'row'? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Pretty sure this is all very standard 'strong dictator' behaviour - convince the people all is well with you, even when it isn't. Standard from Putin and Kim Jong Un, of course.

It's amazing how people have to look on social media to be told that they are seeing foreigners everywhere, rather than - you know - actually looking outside where they'll see it's all bullshit. But they prefer to believe what they've been told rather than what they see.

The radicalisation of the British public by extremist politicians and an obliging media happy for people to think asylum seekers rather than the super wealthy elites are the cause of all our problems...
Roland Smith (@rolandmcs.bsky.social) reposted reply parent
Reminder that small boat migration is c.5% of all UK immigration. And asylum-seeking generally is far lower per head of UK population than most other west European countries e.g. 🇩🇪 🇫🇷 🇮🇹 🇪🇸 🇧🇪 🇳🇱 🇦🇹 🇮🇪. Yes even Ireland takes way more. Yet none have the same sense of crisis and moral panic as the UK.
