Yeah, everything that’s been releasing haven’t been the most critically acclaimed. Ghost of Yotei is just around the corner though! I have high hopes for that one. Sadly, everything is expensive right now 😔 America is making absolutely stupid decisions. I can’t believe this timeline is real.

While Lost Soul Aside is far from perfect, the spectacle of some of the boss fights and the combat —in general — are two areas I hope Sony takes note of and applies to future titles! This is about the last 3rd of one boss battle.

True. God of War imo is probably the best example of everything done correctly! And more and more the Naughty Dog games are becoming a slog for me. Which stinks because those first 3 uncharted games were PEAK!! Returnal and Stellar Blade are also really fun games to play! I want more of that 🙏

Sometimes the first party games from Sony — while amazing — can have too heavy of a narrative that leads to a bit of a depressing experience. Lost Soul Aside is fun to play but has the opposite problem of a narrative in which I have zero interest 😂 I hope Sony sticks with these projects though!

I’ve been playing Lost Soul Aside despite the less than stellar launch I’m 12 hrs in (start of ch 3/halfway going by trophies) 9 yrs of waiting led me to hope for a surprise 9/10 hit landing with a smash, but it’s more so a “good” tier action game w impressive visuals. My extended thoughts below!👇
I’m about 7 hours in and what you said is spot on! That intro section had me worried. But the more you play it becomes a vastly different experience. Same as you I’m not really invested in the story. It’s just serves its purpose enough to move the action along. I’m enjoying it though!

Coming from Gears of War to this is interesting. Many of the things regarding characters that aged poorly in Gears can be seen in Lost Soul occasionally. Just interesting that one is considered a masterpiece and the other gets knocked. IMO both are great 😊
Spent a few hours in Lost Soul Aside. I’ve got to say… I’m enjoying it! Was a little worried in the beginning but combat really opens up after the intro. Some character designs/models are… interesting choices, but overall it’s like a B movie with incredible action that you just can’t stop watching!
Seems like there’s some absolute garbage humans leaking onto Bluesky. Just want to let my amazing moots know to block these people and reach out if necessary! I feel like we have such a tight group here and this has honestly been the best social platform I’ve used. I won’t go down without a fight.
