I tried to read the dissent but glazed over when the mentions of the 1797 XYZ affair exceded the length of the concurrence. If you want proof that things can always get worse, read up on Andrew Oldham and picture him on the Supreme Court.
Someone asked me what victory against the forces seeking to occupy Chicago looks like. Obviously, those forces being repelled is the goal, but there are layers to what success looks like in these deteriorating conditions. The first is to successfully resist the normalization of military occupation.

I think it is a true description of a maladaptive idea. The concept of the nation-state, or any physical home for that matter, is great except for times for it is a death sentence. Same goes true for coastal Louisiana, the Maldives, or Palestine.
