Yes. For Trump, golfing, shit talking to the Press, and tweeting are his favorite activities. All 3 of these are in sudden decline or even absence. At his age, bruises on the hands like that, are a sign of decline. He will be dead or incapacitated before Christmas.

Ukraine is using the French AASM 'Hammer' guided glide bombs to very great effect in the war. They have proved to be surprisingly accurate and effective. Dozens and dozens of videos on YouTube showing them in action. If a single building needs to be hit, Ukraine will hit it with a Hammer.

Dear National Guard, Get out when your time is up. Your future is going to be on a farm, for the entire harvesting season. Or in 29 day rotations, whichever comes first. It's going to kill your civilian job. Employers will see you as unreliable. Especially companies looking to hire workers.

16 years old working weekends bagging groceries at a military commissary on an Army base in the 70's. The lines were long and never ending. Speed was everything. You bagged fast or you were replaced. For hours and hours. At the end of the day walk out with pockets bulging with quarters. Tips.

When I was in the Army in Germany in the 80s, we were taught how to jam Soviet Union and East German radio signals. We were also taught that jamming them during peacetime would be an act of war. So during exercises, we practiced jamming U.S. radio signals. I guess jamming is now a big grey area.

636 km from Kyiv to Mariupol. The drones can fly that far, but they have small warheads. The Flamingo has a warhead more than 1 ton, which can pound through 6 feet of reinforced concrete. That will sink a ship. But they are probably foreign-owned ships. Difficult situation.
Jeffry Bazooka (@jeffrybazooka.bsky.social) reply parent
Too much reliance on weak satellite-based GPS signals. Commercial aircraft need to add more resilient navigation to back up GPS. There are internal navigation systems available that don't rely on satellites. Costs money.

Jeffry Bazooka (@jeffrybazooka.bsky.social) reply parent
Ukraine's jet-powered interceptor drones are not yet fast enough to intercept Russian cruise missiles. Cruise missiles can go more than 440 mph and interceptor drones are around maybe 200 mph. But they're really good against Russian Shahed-type drones.
Jeffry Bazooka (@jeffrybazooka.bsky.social) reply parent
Ukrainian engineers also managed to put AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missiles on their naval drones and have actually intercepted Russian fighters with them. If they can hit a Russian fighter, then they could also hit a Russian cruise missile. But these naval drone numbers are low.
Jeffry Bazooka (@jeffrybazooka.bsky.social) reply parent

Types of missiles Russia launched are in this posting thread. The 3 main types of anti-air missiles that Ukraine uses to intercept Russian missiles are Patriot (U.S.), NASAMS (Norway), and IRIS-T (Germany). I don't know about Patriot supplies lately, but they are in high demand and low supply.

Better that they flee Crimea, leaving Crimea open for taking, rather than trapping them on Crimea, making the siege more difficult. Ferries would be impractical. Also, a panic flight is good for destroying Russian morale and resistance. Especially on world wide TV.

The Russian soldiers will have less tank and artillery support, due to the mud, but that support can be largely supplanted by drones. So the ground war will continue in modified form.
Jeffry Bazooka (@jeffrybazooka.bsky.social) reply parent
Instead of pulling a small 2-wheeled cart behind a soldier loaded with a small amount of supplies, they can pull a flat-bottomed sled instead, as would be used in winter. A walking army can keep going in almost any weather. And drones of course keep flying.
Jeffry Bazooka (@jeffrybazooka.bsky.social) reply parent
Late Fall and early Spring. However, my opinion, as the Russian army is now largely dismounted, the mud season is no longer a huge problem. It is a problem for large vehicles, but a bit less of a problem for soldiers on foot, as it were. The soldiers won't like it, but they can keep moving, slowly.

After the fall of the Soviet Union, western nations stepped in and helped Russia rebuild and recover. A similar scenario could be offered in exchange for their leaving Ukraine. Give the Russian elites hope and profits and a return to some kind of normalcy, and they will take care of Putin.

I am hoping that with its economy beginning to tumble, and eventually seeing Ukraine offensives, that the Russian elites will arrange for Putin's downfall and replacement. Then real peace talks can occur with realistic goals. Russia could be given face-saving ways to leave Ukraine.
