That's a terrible regex. It's going to match anything of any length that happens to fit that pattern
I think tailwind, depends on version, will generate some of the newer syntax with the fall back where possible. So you might be surprised how much you're actually using. That said there is quite a lot of specific syntax for newer stuff like container queries
When there is a shift to new ways of doing things companies often struggle to do the correct thing in a timely manner. I suspect this is one of those things. This sounds like a 5 o'clock on a Friday afternoon decision
