This is, as @warondumb.bsky.social calls it, the Alabamification of America. We ‘be elected a few democrats here, including a US Senator within the past ten years, but we did it in spite of a dysfunctional state Democratic party leadership. The DNC needs to get over itself.

I shopped for an Instacart customer who left a bag of treats for me at the door. As I removed the bottle of water I saw she'd also included a keto-friendly treat. How thoughtful! That certainly doesn't happen every day. I was thrilled she thought of me, but that really brought on the gratitude.

According to their website their focus is on attracting what was red blue. In that case I see value in what they say. Republicans believe crime is rampant and troops can help. Focusing on what hits them now will change hearts and minds

Here’s a take: I’m neurodivergent. There is no real numbers on adults in the US, but the CDC says 1 in 31 kids is autistic, safe to say there’s a lot of us. To get our attention, speak plainly and avoid nuance. Food insecurity doesn’t register with us the same way hunger, poverty, or scarcity does.

Back in March a man accused me of stealing his son’s cell phone from the local middle school. I am an old woman, not a teacher, and have no children who enter my home, yet he called the cops and claimed his son’s phone’s tracking app said the phone was in my house. It wasn’t. 🤷♀️🙄

My therapist once told me we don't change what we benefit from. It's held true in my life.
If your habits are so unacceptable to them, perhaps they should find somewhere else to live.
I find it horribly cruel for websites like NeuroLaunch, who are designed to appeal to neurodivergents, to bombard us with multiple ads with bright, blinking lights that give you a headache. We should create a list of sites that do that and avoid them like the plague. #autism #ADHD

We had a few days that were quite nice, which is unusual for the summertime here, but now we're back to heat and humidity. Can you believe it's already mid-August? Soon it will be fall. I have so many plans for my gardening then.
It has and I'm encouraged to continue. I removed the app from my cell phone so they can't cell my data - you know we're ok with all that here in the US - and only check socials from my laptop. Better for me all the way around!

Florida is running a R-turned-D for governor and they think this is a winning strategy, even though they did the same damn thing 4 years ago and still lost to DeSantis. We truly need a new party, Not Elon's, but one by and for the people. Where we tell rich people with money to shove it.

For real. Alabama elected a Democratic Senator within the past ten years. We’d have more democrats in office if our state democratic party was functioning.
And deep down, I masked for years out of fear of them. Had I been accepted as is, I doubt I’d have developed those coping mechanisms.
My opinion is they want us “normal” because if we’re not normal then we’re not human in their minds. Anti-vaxxers would rather their kids die than be autistic. Some parents of autistic kids have subjected them to torturous “cures.” Cops justify killing us because we’re a “threat to society.”
Any excuse to fuck over the common people.

It seems some foreign countries have greater representation in Congress than the majority of Americans.
We don’t have representation from either party.
Hopefully long enough for Democrats to get their act together. To be honest, despite Trump’s unpopularity, the Democrats are even more unpopular, and their public actions prove to the voters how that, as a whole, they seem more concerned with their own interests than those of the people.
No, but he lacks the political backing of the other, so won’t be able to do much. Actually I hope Trump doesn’t die before the mid-term elections, because that election will be a referendum on Trump - as long as the Democrats get their shit together and quit blowing it.
