We can't afford libraries or museums or health care for poor people, but *this* is a sound use of taxpayer dollars? 🤨

SO true. I've had people recommend books and I'll start them and think "nah" and then later pick it up and think "wow, this is so good"--for me, at least, timing is really important.
It depends. With a massive 400-person House of Representatives and a large influx of Free Staters, state-level stuff can definitely lean red. OTOH, all of our federal reps (2 members of the House, and both US Senators) are Dems.
Ha, we haven't had that happen (yet), but both my husband and I prefer manual cars. I'll be incredibly sad when that's no longer an option...they are fun to drive and some level of protection against theft, IMHO.
I've worked in a couple of legislative offices--done correctly, I've seen it when formal response is being sent, but the elected official knows the recipient--it's not supposed to be a flex so much as a sign that "yeah, my staff wrote this, but I've reviewed it." No idea what Martin is trying for.

Agreed. It really seems like her desire to have a child and the cost of IVF really blinded her to everything else. She was lied to, and being utterly surrounded by Trump supporters probably added to the myopia.
That caught my eye too. "Cut government spending" followed by "aka waste" ("also known as waste") implies ALL government spending is waste.

If their goal was to "find waste" they would have brought on seasoned accountants, not 19 y.o. coders (and, there'd be no need to pause anything while accounting work is done).

Good luck with the shots! First shingles shot made me soooooo sleepy (as in, every time I sat down I fell asleep), but the second was no problem. Totally worth it, 100% would recommend (over shingles, which sucks).
