I've had a few One Steps in my collection, but wound up selling them because I was offered a ridiculous price for them. The only one I still have left is "Mingus, Ah Um", and it's easily one of the best-sounding records I own. I buy a lot more Analogue Productions than MoFi these days though.

I think that one of the things that is most important is getting rid of a Senate that provides two seats for every state regardless of population. This paradigm is one of the largest mistakes that was made in the design of our government. The electoral college is another massive failure.

I work at a very large R1 university. Just a few days ago ICE began kidnapping foreign grad students off of our campus. I think that driving away the foreign students is just part of the plan. The other part is to destroy our universities and research institutions.
For most people in this country a sense of community has been completely lost and/or destroyed. They do not want us to regain it. The only sense of community they want us to enjoy is the one that comes from being a member of the cult.
ICE has begun kidnapping graduate students from my workplace campus.
It can be reformed by placing it inside the fires that it started.
Unfortunately accurate - I won't name my employer explicitly, but one department we have is a non-revenue generating group whose purpose is to provide financial management assistance and education to independent farmers. It is likely to be shuttered because all its federal funding has been axed.

I love this. When my wife and I were first dating I went to her house in Saigon to celebrate Tet Holiday with her family. She and her sister took me out after dark to sneak around and steal flowers from all their neighbors. They called it "di hai loc" - going to steal luck. It was great fun.
Then when they lose elections the establishment dems blame it on the few left-of-center ideas they actually espouse. What they don't understand is that it doesn't matter at this point what policies they claim to support because people know they won't deliver. They're failures.
To be clear, you and I agree with each other on this. The Dems try to claim that actual leftist policies are political poison, and then use that as an excuse to begin negotiating from the center. Negotiating from the center is already a compromise because it guarantees right-wing solutions.

It dawned on me the other day that China has not been involved in a war on foreign soil since its failed invasion of Viet Nam in 1979. 46 years without a single foreign military intervention. Maybe we've all been tricked into believing in the wrong boogeyman.
Though Liberalism seems to espouse equality and fairness among races, sexes, genders, it still promotes "free enterprise". Liberals are capitalists. Nothing is more inequitable than capitalism. Leftists, though, believe in alternate systems where money isn't necessary to thrive. I am a leftist.
What about those of us white intellectuals whose spouses are foreign, and whose children were born in a foreign country? And what about us white intellectuals who don't want to pay taxes into a system that will use those funds for war and deportations? When I leave it will be for my family.
Both of my children were born in a foreign country. They have citizenship in the USA only because I am their father. This is also birthright citizenship. My wife was granted citizenship because of me. In my home of 6 people, I am the only one born here. It's my family they're coming for.
