I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. I'd never read any of his prose and none of his comics for 20 years, but the Swamp Thing sage knocked me out way back when. An imaginative, ripping yarn. I guess it's intended as a series. I'd read another.

There used to be a place near me in fl that was only open occasionally with no pattern and no hours posted. It was run by a guy in his 70s who was easing into retiring and I think he just made pizza when he felt like it. It was damn good.

Loved Pamplona. Didn’t expect much but it was great. Got a guided walking tour the first day. Recommended. Less crowded than San Sebastián. We also rented a car there and went to Urbassa-Andia national park for a day.

In yet another episode of 21st century extreme rapid intensification, Major Hurricane #Erin has reached Category 4 intensity overnight. Maximum sustained winds are now 130 mph (215 km/hr), where as yesterday at this time they stood at 70 mph. Thankfully Erin's core is missing land.

It's very nice that all printed editions use the same page numbers. While traveling I borrowed the ebook from the library. Lacked page numbers, but being able to search in the book for a name was nice. "Have I seen this person before?" Did the same for Ed Park's Same Bed Different Dreams.

4 hours in an interview room. Was ‘asked’ to give a lie detector test about a serious incident at work. Was taken to a room behind 3 locked doors. I must add that I have no idea about MDPI's peer review process. It seemed a little light, but I'm not really qualified to judge the scientific aspects of some of the projects I work on, just the the evidence acquisition and the evidence synthesis methods. I was just thinking about my experiences with MDPI (journals chosen by PIs, btw). Their managing editors gave a lot of proofreading & editing advice (free) and were extremely helpful & professional. Meanwhile, the big so-called "legit" publishers seem to leave that all to the unpaid peer reviewers.

Med school professors are using it now. I’m a librarian and we get questions about it all the time. At this point though we’re starting to get involvement from non-early adopter faculty who want to know how to deal w it, how to teach skepticism and questioning on AI. That’s encouraging.
