That's what I woke up to on Tuesday.
He smiled at her. At the time, her mom worked evenings and would always check on her late at night when she got home from work. We figured she was just half awake when her mom came into her room. Bits and pieces of the story were taken from real life.
One good thing was that she wasn't afraid. When I questioned her back then, she said she liked him and he was "nice." Even now, when I told her I was writing a story about her shadow man, she said, "You better make him nice."

Breathtakingly beautiful, Tammy. My daughter inspired one of my short stories. When she was three, she kept talking about seeing a "shadow man" in her room at night. After a while she stopped talking about him and then, a year or so later, she came up to me and said "Daddy, the shadow man is back"

It was such a great time...If you do go, a word of advice: it will be further away from your hotel than it looks. I was like, "We can walk, it's only five minutes away"...Forty-five minutes later, we were still walking.

Haven't had a zombie dream for a few years. The last one was way back in college. I dreamed I was trying to escape zombies at work, so I climbed on top of the oven and attempted to get out through the skylight.
Just the entire concept of the dead feasting on the living. For years, I'd occasionally have dreams about zombies.
If ICE keeps hiring overweight and out of shape guys like Cain, we'll have to start calling them the Gravy Seals.
Night of the Living Dead for me. Saw it at way too young an age and it was the only movie to give me nightmares.
Something I found out recently, is that lobster was once considered cheap food fit only for the lower classes, prisoners, and servants.

Yeah, I’ve read Faulkner before: Light in August, As I Lay dying, The Sound and the Fury. The pace was deathly slow and I just wasn’t in the mood for it. Probably better as a beach read when I’m well rested. I kept nodding off.

Made me want to buy a lotto ticket. Here’s a better picture of the back patio. It was immense. All the rooms were huge.
My whole house could have fit inside the living room. The house was right in the middle of the vineyard. Sitting out there every morning and watching the sun rise was something special. There was also a baby coyote running around that was pretty cute
Both are fine, but I think, when overdone, layering action with dialogue can come across as artificial and unrealistic. There's a time and a place for your characters to have a conversation.
a photo you took that brings you inner peace 🤍 The beach is my favorite place to be, I feel nothing but calmness and peace when I'm there. The other photo is at an estate in the middle of the wine country. Every morning, I'd sit on the back patio, drink my coffee, and watch the sun rise. Bliss.
