They all know that time is running out, and they are still weeks away from California: some like the Reeds and Eddy's without most of their wagons and oxen. Reed has to borrow an oxen to pull his one remaining wagon. And then there's the food provisions. 2/6

James Reed is assisted by Billy Graves, but is only able to recover one cow and one oxen. Which means the richest man in the party will now have to abandon most of his wagons. Perhaps he more than anyone is suddenly concerned with inventory. They stay at Pilots Peak another night. 2/2
September 9, 1846: the Graves family is one of of the few families to have most of their cattle intact at the end of the journey through the Great Salt Desert to Pilots Peak. They have been assisting other families in getting their lost oxen and horses. 1/2
Just about when Helo was going to bale back to Galactica. Everyone is relieved. Except Gaeta, whose leg is fucked. And Seelix who has picked up the Cally ball in being the most awful character on the show. 12/12
"Go unbox Lucy Lawless. She knows who the five Cylons are. Also they are from Earth or something so yeah. Starbuck you are the harbinger of death and will lead everyone to their end." Which freaks out Starbuck and Sam for different reasons. They jump back to Demetrius. 11/12
This Eight had asked Sharon to lead a mutiny, which disgusts Sharon. Now the dying Eight begs for forgiveness. Sharon doesn't give it Sam instead comforts her. He has some Cylon moments in this episode. Anyway before power off the Hybrid basically tells them: 10/12
Anyway they have to power down the Hybrid to do the FTL, which Starbuck is annoyed with anyway because she doesn't tell Starbuck anything of use. During the power down the Hybrid appears to be in pain, cause the uninhibited Centurion to shoot the Eight unplugging her. 9/12
Which ends with Barolay dead because this Six can't forget how Barolay once murdered her. And Sam threatens to blow the alliance to smithereens by shooting this Six in the head. But Natalie, realizing what is at stake, pulls the trigger instead. Alliances are hard. 8/12
And it turns out Leoben wasn't entirely honest because Natalie Six is not happy to see Starbuck or wanting to let her see the Hybrid. But also they have no FTL. Eventually they agree to use the raptor as the FTL. Another Six is sent to help Barolay with this setup. 7/12
Barolay in case you don't remember is Anders pyramid team member and a resistance member. And she tells Starbuck that she kicks ass. Oh, she is so dead. Anyway it turns out all Starbuck's painting was of the Cylon battle and the fucked up basestar. 6/12
Sam Anders interrupts the mutiny against Starbuck by shooting Gaeta in the leg in such a way that dude is obviously gonna lose it Starbuck realizes she should at least meet the mutineers halfway what with being cagey, so she takes a raptor with Leoben, Sam, Sharon, and Barolay. 5/12
Emily of course dies. And Roslin shares her story with Adama, who is of course admiral atheist, but he believes in Laura. Awe. Oh, that was just a subplot. We have a Cylon/Human alliance to start. And it starts like every alliance: poorly. 4/12
Roslin talks a bit about her mother dying and how traumatic that was, but it is really about her own fears of cancer and death. And then she has a dream of her own where Emily are on a boat and Emily sees her dead family again. And Roslin sees her mom, but she isn't ready yet. 3/12
She listens to the Baltar Sermon Radio Hour because it gives her comfort because she had a dream about death and the presence of something greater than herself. Roslin thinks this is all hooey, but the two women talking are... wow great stuff. 2/12

Anyway speaking of guest stars, right winger Dwight Schultz plays a mentally ill veteran with PTSD and for once it isn't played for laughs. At least that was treated well. Him and Jerry Doyle are great in this episode, which is all the more reason for me to hate this episode. Gah! 3/4

Babylon 5: S2E5. "The Long Dark." There isn't much to say about this episode. Anne-Marie Johnson guest stars as an unfrozen popsicle. Dr Franklin acts like a predator. I am not sure JMS ran this one by a real life woman on how a woman would behave in this scenario. 1/4
