The Dems are stating this is illegal. Many have spoken out about Trump's illegal activity... the press in the USA is still not stating it... because they are owned by Republican backers.

Illegal weed dealers may not seem scary, but the people supplying them can be. Organized crime is organized crime. They know to put on a front to the potential customers. They are not all backyard small scale growers, no matter what they tell you. Legalizing it is better but brings issues to light
Is water safe? People drown in it every year. The safety of vaccines is documented. Are they safe for everyone? No. Some will have allergies (which is true for literally everything, even water). The risk of taking vaccines is safe compared to exposure to the disease without vaccination.

I just read the poll and the headlines are not accurate. It shows only that the base support for conservatives is slightly more solid, if you remove all swing voters and strategic voters... but overall public opinion of Poilievre versus Carney in that poll is not good for the Cons at all

We have far less in Canada thankfully. Still more than I am comfortable with... but it's only 3% of Canadians Identify as Christian Nationalists, whereas about 33% of Americans do. Our largest group of Christians is Catholic, which don't buy into that. 35% of Canadians are non-religious/atheist.
These are much smaller countries geographically... with less diversity across geographic regions. We have the system we have for a very good reason. Ranked Ballots would be the only way to change it that would make sense. Pure PR would mean Toronto voters control rural areas they don't understand.
