DS9 should’ve stayed away from the goofy Ferengi episodes. They did such a great job making the show so dark, serious and emotional. They should’ve stuck with it. I mean, Quark proved to be a capable fighter at times, not to mention Nog got loads of amazing serious times.

You know how movies used to have big name stars doing cameos, hilariously trying to save the day or fight some sort of evil (think Tom Jones in “Mars Attacks” or various people in “This Is The End”)? It suddenly occurred to me how that’s actually reality now, with them speaking out against Trump.
I know I’m British but I actually really enjoy sometimes watching clips from some U.S. talk shows like Kimmel, Colbert and Fallon. Good on them for speaking out despite the fascist regime continuing to silence them. So much for “free speech”!🙄 #JimmyKimmel

Me too. I had to look up how to stretch the clock but I’ve got the hang of it now.
I think 15 episodes is a nice round number. I wouldn’t want to go back to having 20+ episodes, as it was way too much (especially for rewatches) and not every episode was good. But, I would like more development of EVERY regular/semi-regular, instead of just 3 or 4 (more DS9 than DSC).
My heart goes out to you and your family. I’m utterly disgusted at the recent behaviour of some of my countrymen. Despite me being white, I’ve grown up surrounded by diversity and treat them the same as everyone else, especially kids. I’ve faced prejudice too, so wouldn’t wish it on anyone.🤬🫱🏻🫲🏽

Totally agree. As an Autistic person, I’ve always struggled to make eye contact with people when talking. I’ve had people be rude about it, try leaning back into my field of vision or say, “Are you talking to me?”🙄

I’ve always loved this episode, especially on the build-up to Halloween. I know Andrew Robinson originally wanted to escape the villain typecasting he’d endured before DS9, but he’s just so good at it. Plus, nice return to the whole thing of O’Brien’s Cardassian War past.👏
↔️I’ve gotta admit, I’ve always liked it as a standalone, fun adventure. I think where it fails is it’s one of those early DS9 episodes where they were still trying to copy TNG, rather than the darker, grittier, serialised show we got later on.

I don’t watch Foundation but the SNW season finale was pretty good. I did find the actual threat was resolved a bit quickly but the emotional stuff was pretty powerful. I also liked how we got yet another early solidifying of the “Spirk” relationship.

I do agree about the fast resolution of the threat. I think it’s a problem with making the series episodic. There’s no time to properly build things up and deal with the problem. You can’t have an “ancient evil from the dawn of time that threatens all of creation” and then pfft it away in a minute.
