If it’s under Title 32 authority, the Texas guard remains under state control. That would mean that one state is deploying armed forces into the territory of a non-consenting state. And that’d clearly be a violation of the principle that states are co-equal, territorially limited sovereigns.

Oh, yes, Texas has a paper trail a mile long arguing that states have the right to fully deploy its state agents to defend its borders and to use lethal force against any invasion. That would inherently include Illinois using lethal force to repel an invasion by the Texas National Guard.

Wife and I are generally pretty well disciplined with caring for our child but he still went to the hospital because some young man didn't check fully before backing his enormous SUV out and our son ran smack into it on his bike. Happened in less than a minute from house to hospital.

DONALD J. TRUMP, et al., Defendants. Congress spoke clearly in 1878 when it passed the Posse Comitatus Act, prohibiting the use of the U.S. military to execute domestic law. Nearly 140 years later, Defendants President Trump, Secretary of Defense Hegseth, and the Department of Defense deployed the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles, ostensibly to quell a rebellion and ensure that federal immigration law was enforced. There were indeed protests in Los Angeles, and some individuals engaged in violence.
