It has been reported, that Russia's rapeseed (canola) oil exports increased by 40% in the first half of 2025 selling over 780,000 tons, which would surpass Canada as a market leader Unfortunately, our near monopoly of canola sales to China is likely finished - entirely through our own actions.
Interesting study out of Simon Fraser University that calculates that the costs of climate change to GDP now outweigh the benefits of oil & gas to the Canadian economy. (I can't judge the maths for myself, but it's an interesting proposition).
