This is not to say I am not worried - I am. But I think how this plays out is Trump pressures the Senate to kill the filibuster to get a bunch of horrible voter suppression stuff through into actual law.

Most of the March 25 EO was quickly blocked by courts and the admin hasn’t been in the same kind of hurry it has in other cases to change that. Moreover, unlike the universities e.g., the amount of $$ the federal government contributes to elections is a tiny fraction off overall election cost.
kaireky (@kaireky.bsky.social) reply parent
Or they only put 76 on planes earlier - the rest were still in ORR custody.

Where has the admin tried to claim that? Not saying they haven’t just that I haven’t seen it.

Really a great look that @ilattygeneral.bsky.social responded to my FOIA a day late and wrote the incorrect date I submitted it in the letter so it look like they responded in time. Also completely misread my request and suggested I not ask for things that I had, in fact, not asked for. Great look.

Treasury is required to produce a report to Congress related to Direct File, the free tax filing option that the current administration intends to kill. They've created a survey with a bunch of leading questions. The survey deserves some responses supportive of the program to counteract its framing:
