I am generally driven to give my colleagues the benefit of the doubt but it’s just wildly disappointing to see supposedly serious journalists discussing a military invasion of the nation’s cities as if it were just another policy

I visited the last Planned Parenthood clinic in Idaho today and spoke with two women in their 40s who were there for appointments. Both were absolutely bursting at the seams with anger over the political situation. I work from home so much now that it was intense to witness in person.
I think it's weird to expect this much of the first Black president who left office almost 10 years ago and whose election is often pointed to as the reason for ~*All of This*~ happening. Obama can't bail us out of this with pretty rhetoric.

An OBGYN I spoke with a couple months ago who routinely does hysterectomies told me the reimbursement rates for OBs are already incredibly bad. She makes less during one of those surgeries than the urologist does for the brief role they play during a hysterectomy. This won't help keep doctors here

My mom is constantly following the local police scanner group, and she wouldn't leave me alone for a while about putting large boulders in front of my house because she was so convinced a car was going to run into it on my extremely suburban street.
See, I feel like it's more the NextDoor groups and Facebook groups that are having this effect on people. True crime highlights the bigger, truly terrible crimes, which most people know is rare. It's the "someone drove slowly past my house, v suspicious" people that are worrisome to me
