It is possible for strong gun culture to exist without having constant violence. For example, take Switzerland. Switzerland, despite having very light gun control and a VERY powerful gun culture, has one of the lowest homicide rates in the world. That said, the US is clearly doing something wrong.

There are other nations which have a strong gun culture without the constant violence of the US. Switzerland, for example. I think the problem in the US is a combination of easy gun access and a cultural lack of respect for firearms, and the lack of military or police training among the populace.
It should also be noted that there are countries which have a strong gun culture without constant violence, for example Switzerland and Finland. We can have guns without constant violence. Guns are deadly weapons, and should be treated as such.

Dividing the world into a bunch of segregated ethnostates is a terrible and bigoted idea. We don't need to be separated from each other. We need to embrace each other, accept each other, celebrate each other. Interfaith, interracial, and intercultural exchange make us better. They're the future.
I grew up mostly eating food considered “normal” by the western world. I think it’s strange that some people eat grubs, tarantulas, and chicken feet, but hey, maybe it tastes really good and I just need to try it. Gonna have a hard time getting past the “bugs aren’t food” barrier though.
A gun is used for terrorism not because it is small and concealable, but rather because it can put a lot of lead downrange in a short amount of time.
While I agree that guns should be registered and documented, with serial numbers on the receivers, I think Australia has gone the wrong way with gun regs in some respects, going off of size rather than fire rate. The guns that are used in mass shootings are nigh universally semiauto.
He may have cheated, certainly had the scales tipped in his favor (see Russian interference in the election) but honestly, the state of education in the USA is so bad you’d be surprised how many people blindly believe his BS without taking the slightest look at what he actually says.
I have everything to worry about if people who want to mimic the Soviets get into power. For the same reason I worry about the Nazis in power in the US right now. The Soviet Union was an authoritarian empire built on state terrorism and mass murder.

It’s not too dissimilar a phenomenon from the fact that Trump claims to be Christian, yet conveniently forgets that the cornerstone of true Christian ideals is the Golden Rule: Love thy neighbor as yourself.
The church believes in equality and freedom, and a core belief is that everyone should be allowed to do as they wish, so long as it does not infringe on the freedom of others. Utah legislature has shown a hatred for minorities, particularly LGTBQ, and that does not sit right with the church.
They may claim to represent the LDS church, but if they refuse to stand up for the true ideals of it, they should not be considered LDS.

My point isn’t that the Holocaust wasn’t bad, just that it’s not the only genocide in history. The Soviets committed genocide as well. In one instance known as the Holodomor, about 5 million Ukrainians died of famine, likely deliberately created by Stalin to eliminate opposition.

I'm all for setting the amount of universal basic income as high as possible, but $10,000/mo is not yet possible. As a general estimate, I think about 25% of GDP per capita is possible, which in the US means no higher than $2,000/mo right now. However, I think $500-$1500 is where to start in the US.
