Yeah they’ve just worked through most of this already in steps. In the 90s it was calculators with functions that could be programmed in. The fine tuning of what was allowed in open book or crib sheet tests. I remember we could write as small as we could but couldn’t use a photocopier to shrink.

Do they have customer service? Send in your waist, hip and inseam measurements and ask them to suggest something? Returns are VERY expensive and often cause unsustainable impacts in supply chains and should be avoided if possible.

The maddening thing is that we know EXACTLY how to prevent this. Yes, kids should get vaccinated, test, stay home when sick, mask as much as possible. But even without any of that: Better ventilation and filtration in schools can MASSIVELY reduce viral spread, for all sorts of respiratory diseases.

I have a very limited understanding of public health history gleaned from museums and plaques but it seems like engineers got involved early on to resolve systems problems and then after years of things gong well, medicine took over and pushed out systems thinking.

The bumbling idiot is an illusion. The people who tell them what to do have very clear objectives and are making decisions to quickly reach their goals. Putting these characters “in charge” (entitled, wealthy, kind of dumb) guys in charge is disarming so most of the people don’t fight back.

I actually think my experience might even be close to typical for someone my age. It’s a very old medication and I think it was probably originally studied in older women. Well tolerated is also a value judgement by the investigator and the patients participating may not have used that term.

Yes. It is a medical term and weighs how well a med is tolerated vs benefit. I definitely found I tolerated it better than breast cancer. I think we should be grateful but also expect more :)

Look up tamoxifen and all the literature says it’s generally well tolerated, but I says “says who??” Glad it was available to reduce my risk but also glad to be done. Hope someone is working on something that is genuinely well tolerated.

I’ve noticed in the last month (so 7 months later) that I feel much better. Joints no longer sore, much faster recovery from exercise, brain fog gone, I’m building muscle again, hardly any sleep issues. It’s amazing.

It was such a tough decision and I struggled with it for a long time. My doctor took the time to really break down the statistics and it did seem the benefit of extending to 10 years would be quite modest so I permanently stopped taking it.

I completed 5 years on tamoxifen in February and took a vacation to see if side effects were reversible. I was a little embarrassed that I was struggling so much on a medication that everyone claims is “well tolerated”.

As someone who is 99% sure I caught covid in an emergency room (Spouse and I were the only people masked) I can only hope this becomes law. Patients should be able to safely seek healthcare and HCWs deserve a safe workplace! Now I can only hope it becomes mandatory so all HCWs will have to mask

Speed cameras have the potential to automate work but this use case is not yet fully proven. Having a good example of improved safety, lowered costs and higher stakeholder satisfaction would be bad for a certain group of employees.
