It's been observed that Labour members want left-wing policy implemented by right-wing party leaders (because they see them as more "electable"), an approach which has led us to mass deportations, Labour-backed genocide and the culling of disabled people. Personality matters. It's all that does.
It really brings home a point I always make, which is that what's written down on paper as policy is irrelevant. It doesn't matter, it's never mattered, what matters is who you elect and nominate to champion and implement that policy
